No doubt one of the most anticipated movie which will be released on 7th February 2017 worldwide for the LGBTQ community is Almost Adults! There has been lots of buzz, talks, promotions and soft advertising for this movie. If you have no idea what I am talking about, don’t worry just check out their trailer here or below.
- The people
It isn’t rocket science; well it is more of a common knowledge that the rate of success for a movie is with the cast and crew. I would say that Almost Adults is going to be a huge hit based on that tight and great chemistry they have. As a business student, it is always easier to understand certain things if we compare them with us; a human being which consists of the head, body (including hands of course) and the legs.
- a) Head
The master mind (director) for Almost Adults is none other than Sarah Rotella. The person whom breathe words to life is Adrianna DiLonardo. Last but not least is the producer, Rebecca Swift.
- b) Body
The casts for Almost Adults are Natasha Negovanlis, Elise Bauman, Justin Gerhard and Winny Clarke whom were given the characters Cassie, Mackenzie, Levi and Elliot respectively. For those who do not know Natasha and Elise, are you living in a place without Wi-Fi? You need to check out the free web series produced by Kinda TV titled Carmilla. Carmilla gets it’s inspiration from the author called Sheridan Le Fanu but the crew and casts converted this ‘old-fashioned’ concept of vampirism to a modern one but more alluring which I am sure you will enjoy since I binged watched all of them (3 seasons) within 4 days.
- c) Legs
Although it is not mentioned in the official page of Almost Adults I assume there must be some ‘foot man’ such as say camera man/woman, editors, video editors and so on. If there isn’t I apologize upfront to you my dearest readers, as I couldn’t find information about this.
- The story
“This comedy feature follows two best friends in their final year of college while they transition into adulthood. One embraces her sexuality and tries to catch up on everything she has missed during her teenage years, while the other ends a long term relationship with her boyfriend and discovers her life isn’t going as planned. Both struggle to keep their friendship together as they begin growing apart.”
- Almost Adults synopsis from their official website
To be honest, when I watched the trailer, Almost Adults really reminds me of a similar movie; Life Partners which was released in 2014 and it was a satisfactory movie according to Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 63%. What sets it apart in my opinion is most of the audience (including myself) watched Carmilla web series main and adore the main stars; Natasha and Elise. This in turn could change the perception of Almost Adults in our minds making it seem like the best LGBTQ movie to date with it’s amazing trailer.
- The price
You could either rent it or purchase it. They created 2 platforms which are iTunes or Vimeo. The options available for you is either you pick $4.99 to rent or you are willing to spend $12.99 which enables you to watch it and stream it anytime you wish to for Vimeo. I assume it is the same cost for iTunes as well. The reason why they have 2 platforms is because iTunes they are targeting specific countries namely; United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland while Vimeo is available worldwide!
In conclusion, if you are waiting for me to purchase them for you; you are definitely missing out one of the epic films for the LGBTQ community for the 21st century. Remember to ‘check in’ on social media apps (such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc) and help them get more sales you like watching them either from KindaTv or Unsolicited Project!
