1. Impact font

Hands down my favorite font for creating gifs is the Impact font.

As you can see, the letters in this font are thick and easy to read.

So, even when the gif is small, the readability is still good with the Impact Font.

2. Myriad Pro font

This is another great choice for a gif font because the letters are very easy to read.

A lot of people on Tumblr who make their own gifs use the Myriad Pro font.

3. Calibri font

I really like this font, not just for gifs, but for every day usage.

Apparently, this is also the font that many Tumblr gif creators use, so that’s pretty interesting.

And a lot of gif creators prefer to use Calibri for gif subtitles.

This is another of my favorite every day fonts, but for gifs you really need to use it in bold.

Most of the time, the font that you see in those yellow subtitles on gifs is Helvetica Medium Italic. This is also a free font.

However, some gif creators prefer to create yellow subtitles with Cailibri or Myriad Pro.

Sometimes you may even see someone using Arial for a yellow gif subtitle.
